Black Sand Beach

Black Sand Beach is on the Big Island (Hawaii, USA) The beach has black sand made of basalt and created by lava flowing into the ocean which explodes as it reaches the ocean and cools.  You can meet there green turtles, which are often basking on the black sand. Unfortunately, the swimming area is very rocky, and it can be dangerous to swim. Although I think that this place is really worth seeing due to its unusual look.

Glass Beach

In correcting mankind’s mistakes, Mother Nature created really fascinating and beautiful beach. It’s located near Fort Bragg, California.People used this place as dump for decades. After the government banned this practice, beach was cleaned from mostly garbage. Pieces of glass were polished by waves and created this really good-looking place.

Lakes

Lake Retba

Lake Retba, which in English means Pink Lake, lies near to Dakar, in north-western Africa. Lake is naturally pink. Why?

Due to its high salt content, the water has the perfect living conditions for micro-algae calleddunaliellasalina.

The algae produces a red pigment to absorb light. The presence of these organisms is what gives the lake its pink hue.The colour is particularly visible during the dry season (from November to June). Unfortunately the pink colour starts vanishing due to big pollution which kills algae.

If we want this lake to stay in its wonderful and rare colour we need to take more care about our environment!

Loch Ness

Loch Ness is over 23 (36 km)miles long, a mile wide and 700 feet (240 metres) deep. Loch Ness is the largest lake in Scotland

and it lies in north-western part of Scotland, in the Great Glen.Loch Ness is one of many interconnected lakes of Scotland,

which originated in places carved by glaciers during the last ice age. Water transparency Loch Ness is low, which is caused by

high content of peat land adjacent to the lake.It is best known as home for  Loch Ness Monster, also known affectionately as "Nessie".

The surrounding area is filled with historic attractions, natural wonders, and nice places in which you can take a rest.

I recommend to visit this place to everyone who plans to spend holidays in Scotland or in general in Great Britain.
