Paramore and Red Hots

Hi everyone,

this month we'll tell you about Paramore and Red Hot Chili Peppers – another awesome bands ;D

Paramore is an american rockband coming from Franklin, Tennessee.

In 2002 13-year old Hayley Nicole Williams met brothers Josh and Zack Farro. She and Jeremy Davis were playing in a band called The Factory and later the siblings joined them. The band was officially founded in 2004 (notice that members were very young at that time!! Hayley, the youngest, was only 16!) Their first studio album 'All we know is Falling' was recorded year later. For the second 'RIOT!' we had to wait 2 years. Their third album 'brand new eyes' was recorded during and after Hayley's and Josh's relationship, which highly reflected on the sound and lyrics. In 2009 Taylor York officially joined Paramore, tough he was playing on tour since 2007. In 2010 the band informed on their site that Farro brothers left the band. It was a big controversial issue, that totally split the fanbase into two arguing camps. I personally think that it depends on the perspective. On the one side, Josh and Zack felt left out/ ignored because companies were focused mostly on Hayley, which is nothing out of place since at that time there weren't many bands with female lead singers. On the other hand Hayley didn't feel well in the band, because boys were making her feel guilty about the companies and weren't really accepting her. The way for her to move on was to write songs and lyrics, with which boys often disagreed on. The band made the hard choice and decided to move on without Josh and Zack. In april 2013 they are releasing their newest self-titled album. It consists 17 songs, and each of them is completely different. The band says that they grew up and also did their music. From the singles such as 'Now', I'm sure we can expect another great album.

Actual band members:

Hayley Williams – lead vocals, keyboard, guitar *she is famous for her dynamic moves, short height and colourful (mostly orange) hair*

And now... Red Hot Chili Peppers. This band comes from California but was founded in Los Angeles in 1983. They play mostly funk rock but also alternative rock or punk rock. Their first guitarist died in 1988 because of drugs and his place took John Frusciante who left the band in 1992 (one of the reason was addicted to drugs) but after his rehabe he returned and band recorded Californication – one of the most famous song of RHCP but in 2008 Frusciante left the band again. Band won Grammy Awards seven times and they sold over 68 million albums. Their first concert in Poland took place in 2007 in Chorzów. Their last concert in Poland was a year ago in Warsaw.

They released first album – Parachutes in 2000 and the last – Mylo Xyloto in 2011. Their the most famous songs are : Fix You, The Scientist, Viva la Vida, Speed of Sound, Clocks and Yellow.

And as we know, Coldplay played in Warsaw last year. We’re sorry that we weren’t there but we’re waiting for them next concert.

Paradise in Warsaw -

I'd be very suprised if you didn't know Linkin Park, because they are known all over the world and are very recognizable!!!

It all started in 1996, when three high school friends: Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, and Brad Delson, started to take music more seriously and recruited few more members to form a band called Xero. Initially they were recording in Mike'bedroom, which gave birth to a small demo-tape. 3 years later a new vocalist, Chester Bennington, joined a band and their name changed into Hybrid Theory (which is also the name of their first album). When they found out that this name is taken, they renamed the band again, this time into Linkin Park. After facing a lot of rejections from major record labels, Linkin Park finally landed a record deal with Warner Bros Records in 1999.

They released its breakthrough album, Hybrid Theory, the following year. The most known song from HT is called In the End. Their second album, Meteora, featured a mixture of the band's previous nu metal and rapcore styles with newer innovative effects, such as usage of a shakuhachi (a Japanese flute made of bamboo) and other instruments. The third album – that is Mintues to Midnight - had stray away from its previous harsh and hard sound, being calmer and more mood-setting. Next album, A Thousand Suns, was much more experimental than its predecessors. Because of its different sound and genre-bust, some fans left the fanbase of Linkin Park, not liking the change. But the change also brought some new people to their music. The latest and fifth album from them is Living Things, which is incomparable to Hybrid Theory. The 'grow' of the music is incredibly heard in songs such as Burn it Down. To sum it up, the band came a long way from rap rock and alternative sounds to electronica and synthezisers.

Some of the LP songs were used in movies like Transformers (New Divide) and Twilight (Leave out all the rest).

The actual band members are:

Rob Bourdon – drums, percussion

Brad Delson – lead guitar

Dave Farrell – bass guitar, backing vocals

Joe Hahn – turntables, samples, programming, keyboards

Mike Shinoda – vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards, piano

Chester Bennington – vocals

And some songs recorded by them:

In the End -

Faint -

What I've done -

The Catalyst -

Lost in the echo -

See you in next two months!!!
